Bat Events in Greater London: 2008We are unable to confirm all times, and event durations are approximate, and may vary significantly from the estimates posted. For all events, do call the organiser first for full details. The maps are automatically added, and are also approximate.
The London Bat Group may be able to arrange a trained leader for bat walks organised by other groups, and also offers training for people who wish to run regular bats walks on their site. Bat Detector TrainingBat Detector Training courses are run by the London Bat Group to encourage volunteers and conservation staff from land managing organisations to collect bat use data for sites and areas across Greater London. We hope that this will result in additional data becoming available for bats across London, and also to enable participation on bat monitoring schemes run by the LBG and the Bat Conservation Trust. Leading a Bat WalkThe demand for bat walks appears almost insatiable, and the LBG wishes to encourage land managers to run their own events so to this end provides training sessions. We strongly recommend that those who wish to lead bat walks should attend a bat detector course first. To assist this we also provide templates for Health and Safety and a generic Risk Assessment which other groups and organisations running bat walks are free to adapt to their own circumstances. |
